July 30, 2008

phone20.jpg

Verizon’s G’zOne Boulder Rugged Phone is ideal for those who love and live adventure. The $129.99 tag price after a $50 rebate and with a two-year contract attached is well worth the price if you want a phone that can withstand the pressures of rugged environments including water, dust and shock.

The orange and black color as well as the design of the G’zOne Verizon phone is as tough as it looks, having been designed with military specifications in mind. Thus, you can immerse the phone in water, expose it to solar radiation and high temperatures, salt fog, vibration and still keep it intact. Plus, it has a built-in flashlight that’s great for camping and dangerous missions. It also boasts of an electronic compass that can guide you whether in the city or in the jungles.

This is a phone and not just a combat tool so expect it to have the usual cell phone features. You can get lost anywhere so take advantage of the phone’s two-way communication feature using Verizon’s push-to-talk service. The VZ Navigator also allows you to use your phone to locate information and locations. This is ideal for companies with employees working in far locations in a single compound or factory. But who said a family can’t use it to take note of each other needs?

When you are living the good life then you might want to choose from more than 5 million songs and download it to your music phone using an 8GB microSD card which can be purchased separately.. Didn’t I say you can choose the G’zOne Boulder with a 1.3 pixel camera?

Verizon SMT5800 Smartphone

June 2, 2008

The Verizon SMT5800 is a smartphone you can use as your mobile office. The landscape oriented QWERTY keyboard makes typing up documents and emails easier but he pads feel a bit flat unlike those rubber keys common in most cellphones. It has a QVGA screen big enough to manage your phone and Internet transactions.

The phone is powered by Qualcomm MSM7500 processor which is quite fast for mobile office needs. What is great about the SMT5800 is its 400 MHZ processor compared to other phone’s meager 200 to 300 MHZ processors. This is very ideal for those fond of streaming media. It also comes with built in software including Windows Mobile Suite which you need to browse the web, send and recieve emails and work with Microsoft Office documents.

It’s not a bad phone but not that great as well.
