Motorola RAZR VE20

August 29, 2008

The Motorola RAZR VE20 for Sprint is the latest addition to Motorola’s RAZR line. Nothing exciting about this flip phone from its looks down to its features. However, it retains Motorola’s trademark of excellent phone voice quality even in noisy environments.

This 3.5 ounce phone has a wheel interface from which you can directly access Sprint’s service hot links. Battery life is is average with 5.5 hours of talk time. The 2 megapixel camera is average but it will do if you don’t intend to have your photos printed in large sizes.

You can call this phone a jack of all trades but master of none because it has almost all the basic and extra features present in modern phones but it does not boast of one excellent feature. Even the internet browser is very slow you’re better off just using it as a phone than for surfing the Internet. You can use the phone as an EV-DO modem which you can hook up to your PC to get Internet connection.

While the phone has a music player (in this case the Sprint Music Store), you would just be frustrated finding any of the songs in your player.

MOTO A810 Touchscreen Phone

July 22, 2008

Motorola has not been producing great cell phones for quite sometime now and the introduction of the MOTO A810 was welcomed by raised eyebrows by a lot of cellphone aficionados. The A810 could be Motorola’s response to the emerging touchscreen phone market but will it fly?

The phone design is not really that impressive considering the wide array of attractive cellphones around. It has s 2.4-inch touchscreen which is its main selling point. It also boasts of the handwriting recognition and Opera v8.5 browser email support feature. The 2 megapixel camera is however nothing new and the fact that it is Linux-based do not improve its status.

If you want to try the phone, you will be glad to know that it has an FM radio to drive boredom away. Make use of the preinstalled programs like the dictionary and stock trading because these are all you’re going to get.

Motorola is however looking at the Chinese market to continue patronizing its products considering that it has already sold over right million PDA phones that are pen based in the said market.

The Sony Ericsson S302 Snapshot is an affordable quadband phone with EDGE network support. It has a 2 megapixel camera which is not really that advanced considering that it has a fixed focus. The camera feature comes with Photofix and photo light. You can also take short videos but don’t expect great video quality.

The S302 Snapshot is light at 79 grams and is very compact at a measurement of 101×46x11 millimeters. Talk time is 7 hours while standby time is 300 hours.

This 3.7 ounces slider and quad-band phone comes with a high speed 3G network which is ideal for those who want to maintain connection to their friends and business collegaues even while on the go.

The LG Cu720 boasts of an LCD that is not only multi angle but stays hidden when inactive. The stainless shiny steel body is quite attractive for those who want a clean and classy look. The 3 hour talk time may not be enough for those who are heavy phone users but you can always recharge or buy a spare battery.

This phone has good call quality but the keypad may be problematic as it’s way too crowded plus it has a sensitive navigation joystick not ideal for those always in a hurry to do things with their phones.
