Nokia N78

July 13, 2008

The Nokia N78 is a cheap alternative to those who badly want but could not afford the Nokia N82 which is a very capable phone. While it does not have all of the N82’s features like the TV out port, the Nokia N78 can somehow make the grade with other advantages like the 320 battery standby time and the 190 minutes talk time (for 3G) and 260 minutes talk time (for 2G).

The N78 is easy to carry at 102 grams and a size of 113×49x15.1mm. It has a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, videor ecording and is capable of WiFi, 3.6 Mbps HSDPA and assisted GPS navigation. It has a Navi wheel for music, an MP3 player and an FM radio.

One of the downers in this phone is its irritating keypad that are floppy and hard to push. It is so frustrating to dial a number much more when you use it for texting. If you are a serious texter then stay away from this phone otherwise you’ll get crazy.

But it is still cheaper than the to-die-for N82.

Samsung Soulb 9mm Candybar Phone

June 2, 2008

The candybar version of the original Soul is finally here. The Samsung Soulb 9mm Candybar Phone has a metallic contributing to its already elegant and no-nonsense look. While the original Soul appears a bit bulky, this one is very thin at only 9.9mm.

The Soulb’s 3.0 megapixzel camera is however short of pixels compared to the original Soul’s 5.0 megapixel camera. The video recorder and editor is a plus. This phone has a fast internet browser and is very convenient for those who have to use their phones as their mobile office since it has an office document viewer and editor.

You can also use it as a music phone as it comes with a music player and an FM radio. The 1GB internal memory is great but you can maximize your storage by getting a microSD card.

The launching of Soulb has just made Samsung an authority in all forms of cellphones including a slider, candybar or a clamshell. Choose your own colors because Samsung Soulb is available in Platinum Silver, Soul Pink, Souk Grey, Amethyst Violet and Metallic Black.

Nokia 3555 Phone For T-Mobile

March 22, 2008

Nokia has released in the first quarter of 2008 a low-end phone to cater to T-Mobile’s candyphone market. It is very affordable at $150 and those who need a basic phone can benefit from Nokia’s user-friendly features.

The phone does not have a lot of features to boast of but it is touted to be capable of supporting the upcomign 3G network of T-Mobile. The problem is, it does not have a front-mounted camera so it can only have a modem only 3G capability. The rear-mounted camera is only .3 megapixel so don’t expect much from that area.

Talk time is also limited at only 3.40 hours. It has an FM radio though so you can at least enjoy a little music while the battery lasts.
