The Motorola i425 may be the thinnest IDEN phone and it looks a bit interesting but it does not really impress. It looks like a smaller TV remote control version due to the simplicity of the keypad and the overall look of the phone.
It is thin at 4.9×1.9x.47 inches but is a bit heavy for its size at 3.9 ounces. the white and titanium colors are however nice choices for those who want to veer away from the traditional black cell phone.
The phone’s 1,5 inch display is a bit too small and you have to squint if you want to read your messages. The backlighted keys makes it easier on the eyes when it’s dark but the Talk as well as the End buttons are a but problematic when it’s dark.
Given all its features, the Motorola i425 is a so-so phone but at the price of $29 with a contract it is really very cheap and would be a nice start-up phone.

Those who want a more attractive smartphone can rely on the new Q9’s new color scheme which is black and red. It however has the same 2.5 inches display screen as the original but that’s fine. The 1.3 megapixel camera is a turn off though but you can always bring a solo digital camera for picture taking.
The convex shape and slightly rough QWERTY keyboard of the Q9 makes the sending of text messages easier. Plus, the mini USB port located at the left side of the phone assures users of efficient connectivity,
