Water-Powered Cellphone Battery By Samsung
April 19, 2008

A cellphone with a battery that runs on water power? That would be the day! But that day is fast approaching (maybe 2010) as Samsung Electro Mechanics is perfecting a system that will allow water to power micro-fuel cell and hydrogen generator.
Based on the prnciple that micro-fuel cells can generate electricity up to three watts then they can be used in cellphones. If the tests are successful, the fuel cells can power a cellphone for up to 10 hours which is more than the power provided by rechargeable batteries.
With the fuel-cells powering your cellphones, you only need to change the hydrogen cartridge you every five days for an average cellphone use of four hours a day. In the longrun, the inventors will develop a system whereby you will no longer need to change the hydrogen cartidge but just fill it up with water.
